How Our Races Work
To guarantee your birds fly in the 2021-2022 Texas Shootout please be sure you pay your Perch Fees by the deadline.
Just because you signed up online does not mean your birds are eligible.
You MUST pay by deadline to be eligible this year!

RACE FEES
Perch Fees:
(1-4 birds) $275 per bird
(5 or more birds) $200 per bird
DUE BY APRIL 15TH!
Race Fees:
$500 per bird – due before December 22, 2021 – NO EXCEPTIONS
Must be 18 years of age to enter the race.
THIS IS A 4 RACE SERIES
Races will be 150, 250, 300 and 350 miles; beginning the first weekend in January 2022
150 Miles – Average Speed Only (January 8, 2022)
250 & 300 Miles – Trapping Order (January 15 & 22, 2022)
350 Miles – 1st Drop then Trapping Order (January 29, 2022)

Important Information

Ties on the 350-mile race will be given the same clocking # and winnings added together and split equally

Average Speed Payouts will be 1st - 7th

Any unforeseen circumstances will be settled by CL Gage and Kenny Kelley. All decisions will be final.

ALL birds MUST BE ACTIVATED to remain eligible for the races

All birds that have not been activated become the property of the race and will be auctioned off.

All birds that have been activated will be shipped back to the breeder after the race, at the owner’s expense.

If any race fee is not paid by the owner, that complete team of birds will be sold and all monies earned will go to the new payee. The bird(s) also becomes property of the payee

A completed W-9 will be required for winnings of $600 or more
-
No person involved with the Texas Shootout will be allowed to breed or enter birds into the race.

If a bird does not clock, due to piggybacking or chip malfunction, and is verified the bird is in that drop, it will be placed last in that drop

Birds must be retrieved within 14 days after the final race or become the property of The Texas Shootout

$60 shipping per box for the first 2 birds, $10 for each additional bird.
